Olivicola Cosentina is an Organization of Calabrian oil producers in the province of Cosenza (IT) founded in 1982 with the aim to promote, protect and improve olive production and has contributed to the development of 'organic farming, promoting community programs since 2002 with an intense technical support to the many local farms that have decided to adopt the EC Reg. 2092/91 by increasing the vocation characteristic of the region.
His 6000 associated producers and 33 thousand tons of oil products per year, testify the widespread presence throughout southern Italy and Calabria ,through a daily effort to protect the sector and the range of services and solutions for the development: less environmental impact of olive farming, stricter control on the production steps and processing of extra virgin olive oil from Calabria and the integration with the other links in the chain, from the mills to the packaging plants, these are the roots from which it grows and develops the action of Olivicola Cosentina
The promotion of olive production from members is ensured through the well-established presence of Olivicola Cosentina in all the most important showcases and expo: from CIBUS Parma, the SOL Verona, dall'ANUGA Cologne, at SIAL in Paris and the FANCY FOOD in New York and San Francisco and since 'last year developed Calabria Sott'Olio a project for the promotion of Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Calabria.
In his capacity as a promoter of quality extra-virgin olive oil 's Olivicola, promoted vigorously, together with other organizations, the recognition for the extra virgin olive oil from Calabria of European quality mark IGP (currently undergoing)
